Urban Transport (metro, tramways, and light trains)

Goals: Quality of Service and Safety

CORYS T.E.S.S. designs simulators adapted to fit the budgets of subway, tramway and tram-train operators. Theses tools minimize training on trains dedicated to operation and teach drivers the basics of the profession: driving techniques, obeying signals, knowledge of the lines, quality of service and passenger safety.

These last two aspects are greatly improved thanks to advanced modelling of the external environment. The driver may be confronted with passenger boarding at rush hours, the vagaries of urban transport and emergency situations (falls onto the tracks, assaults, train evacuations...).
The virtual interface covers the student's entire visual field and at the same time shows the tracks, surrounding traffic and platforms.
It is the realism of the simulator that for instance convinced the operators of the London and Singapore subways.

The development of new mixed urban transport modes, such as the tram-train requires the broadening of operating agents' skills in the areas of regulations and operation. Until now, these skills were only necessary for the drivers of “heavy load” rail. Using driving simulators enables this need to be met effectively.
